“BEEEEP! BEEEEP!”

I opened my eyes, letting in the bright sunshine from my bedroom window. After I slammed my hand down on my alarm clock to shut it up I made my way out of my bed and into the washroom to get ready.

“Nick! I hope your getting ready for school young man!” I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

“Yeah mom,” I replied.

After three months of freedom, it was time to grab my books and go back to school. This year I start grade 9 at my new school, Maple High. Almost everyone that finished school at Hoy Creek Middle went on to Maple High so I’d recognize a lot of faces there. But there’s one face I’d be dying to see, Patricia Li’s, my life long crush. Ever since I was in her class in grade 4 I couldn’t take my eyes off of her. She was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. Her shiny chestnut hair, her glimmering brown eyes, her soft smooth skin ... I was blessed the day I was put in the same class as her. Ever since then we’ve been going to the same schools.

Every once in a while at school we would have a little small talk but we never really built a good relationship. She probably thinks of me as just some guy she knows from school. Ever since grade 7 I’ve seriously considered asking her out but I never got the guts. What if she said no? I wouldn’t be able to go on knowing she had no interest in me. Well I might as well pick up where I left off this year.

After breakfast, I got my bag and started walking to school. As I walked all I could think about was Patricia and how much I’ve missed seeing her beautiful face. As I made my way to the front doors of the school someone jumped me from behind and almost knocked me over.

“Hey Nick! Wuz up?” It was my best friends, James and Sean.

“I’ll pay you back the money I borrowed yesterday okay man?” said James.

“You’d better or I’ll have to break both your legs,” I said.

“Ha ha, always the wise guy huh Nick?” James said.

“Sure” I replied.

“Hey, I still have to get you back for that prank you pulled on me last week at my birthday party.” said Sean.

“Yeah well it’s gonna be pretty hard to top what I did to you.” I replied. I had to admit I really embarrassed him last week at his own party, but he had it coming. He can be a real pain in the ass sometimes.

“We’ll see...” he said.

“Hey Nick,” said James, “I know what you’re thinking and you’re in for a big surprise!” He told me as he waved at a girl sitting on a bench near the field, “Hey Patricia!”

There she was, the person I cared about most in the world, sitting there wearing her white blouse, dark blue skirt and matching sweater. If only she knew. I could see her wave her hand at us as we made our way over to the field. But there was something else I noticed. Last year the only thing I would look at was Patricia’s beautiful face, and of course this year she looked better than ever. But something else caught my eyes. Over the summer she must’ve passed puberty with flying colors cause she grew the most gorgeous and impressive set of breasts I’ve ever seen. The new addition of size 34D boobs almost made me drool on my shoes right there.

“Hey Nick! Long time no see,” she said. “Hey, you’ve gotten taller!”

“Hi Patricia,” I replied. “Thanks, you’ve grown too,” trying to take my mind off of her chest.

“I have? Well maybe just a little.”

“Yeah ... How was your summer?” I added.

“It was really great, I went to Hawaii with my family for a week!” answered Patricia.

“Wow, sounds like fun.”

“BEEEEEEP!” The school bell went off and school officially started as everyone made their way inside.

“I guess I’ll see you later Patricia.” I said

“Maybe we’ll have some classes together!” she added

In my mind that was the one thing I was praying for, “Yeah, maybe.”

Well my first class was Math and Patricia wasn’t anywhere in the room. That’s okay, I told myself, there’s still 4 other classes. After attendance we started doing work right away. I knew high school would be harder but I didn’t think we would get work on the first day.

After Math I walked to my next class, Science. I took a seat at a desk near the back and once again scanned the room for Patricia; no luck. After the teacher wrote his name on the board he started the lesson. Just then there was a knock at the door and I could swear I heard music in my head as I saw Patricia walk in to the room.

“Sorry,” she told the teacher, “I couldn’t find the room.”

“That’s alright it’s a big school” he replied, “please, take a seat.”

She looked around and our eyes locked for just a split second. She passed me with a smile on her face and sat down at the desk behind mine.

Then the teacher continued with the lesson. He wrote things out on the board and we took notes. With a few minutes left the teacher made an announcement to the class about a project. “I want you to write a small report on a certain type of science. You can work with a partner if you’d like, I’ll let you choose who you want to work with. Due tomorrow.”

I felt a tap on my shoulder from behind.

“Hey Nick,” said Patricia, “wanna be partners?”

“Sure!! Uh ... sure.” I answered, trying not to sound TOO enthusiastic. I guess I still can’t get myself to let her know I like her.

“Cool, I’ll come over to your house at 4:30 to work on it okay?”

“Sounds good.” I couldn’t believe my luck. Patricia Li was going to go to my house later that day.

Class ended and it was time for lunch. I met up with James, Sean, and our circle of friends and took a table in the cafeteria. We got our lunches and started making conversation. Somewhere in the middle of the conversation Sean had something to say.

“Hey everyone,” he started, “as you remember Nick made me look like quite the fool at my party last week.”

After everyone had a bit of a laugh Sean continued. “Yes yes, it was a pretty good joke he played on me. But Nick my friend, I think I’ve got you back for it.”

“Oh really?” I said, quite curious as to what he did.

“Yup. As you and everyone else at this table knows, you have quite the crush on Patricia.”

I didn’t like where this was going.

He continued, “So I took the liberty of writing a note with your name on it and putting it in her locker.”

“Ohhhh...” everyone around the table said.

“What did it say Sean?” one of them asked.

“Oh nothing really, only a few comments like ‘You have got the most luscious set of breasts I’ve ever seen’ and ‘I want to rip off your shirt and suck on your tits’”

My eyes widened as I thought about what he just did.

James spoke out, “Come on Sean, that was a little harsh. You know how Nick feels about her.”

“It’s cool man,” Sean replied, “it’s not that big of a deal, right Nick?”

I forced a smile onto my face, “Uh ... yeah,” I managed to say. “Good one Sean, you sure showed me.” I was still in shock from this news.

After lunch I went on to my classes. I started to think about what to do in this situation. Should I wait to see what she says? Maybe she’ll know it was a joke. But she doesn’t really know me that well. What if she takes it seriously? Then I’m screwed! I’d better talk to her and straighten this out.

Class after class passed and Patricia wasn’t in any of them. School finally ended and I ran around the building looking for Patricia. After half an hour of searching I gave up and walked home. I couldn’t believe Sean went that far.

When I got home I dropped myself on the couch and tried to take my mind off by watching TV. Usually I’d pop a porn video into the VCR but I just wasn’t in the mood today. This morning I was the happiest guy in the world and now I’m sitting on my ass thinking about how all of that’s gone.

“Ring ring!” Then phone rang. What if it’s Patricia? I picked up the receiver.

“ ... Hello?” I nervously said.

“Hi sweetie, how was your day at school?” It was mom.

“Fine mom. I wish you’d stop calling me those little kid nicknames.” I replied.

“Oh you don’t mean that. Listen, I’m a little held up at work today so I’m going to be late. You’ll have to make your own dinner tonight. I won’t be back till 7.” she explained.

“Alright mom, I got it. Bye.”

“Bye!”

Man, for a second I thought that was Patricia and I’d have to explain. Then I realized that’s what I had to do. I pulled myself together, picked up the phone again and dialed her number.

“Hello, Li residence.” it was her dad.

“Hi, is Patricia there?” I asked him.

“Sorry, she isn’t home yet. Can I take a message?”
